With one week to go in the regular season, UNM men’s basketball coach Steve Alford has suspended one of his players.

Alford announced Monday that Demetrius Walker is suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

Alford would not specify what Walker did, but said it is not a legal matter.

Walker played in 23 games this season but did not get off the bench in the last four games.

He’s only scored a total of 14 points in the past month.

He averaged five points a game this season.
