Thirteen residents of Cibola County have been charged with drug trafficking and firearms offenses following a multi-agency investigation, led by the DEA and the New Mexico State Police.

Eleven of the defendants were arrested early Tuesday morning. One was already in custody on an unrelated charge, and another is wanted and considered a fugitive.

According to federal indictments, several of the defendants conspired to distribute methamphetamine as well as heroin.

During Tuesday’s operation, law enforcement officials confiscated 112 grams of heroin, 56 grams of meth, firearms, body armor, a vehicle and over $30,000 in cash.
