The Department of Justice will hold a public meeting Wednesday to talk to people about recent APD shootings or other possible acts of force.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m.at the Palo Duro Senior Center, 5221 Palo Duro Ave NE near Comanche and San Mateo.

The center has been closed for cleaning but will be open for Wednesdaynight's  meeting, organizers say.

The Department of Justice is investigating APD for possible civil rights violations in the wake of 26 shootings – 18 of them fatal – by APD officers since 2009.

At Wednesday’s meeting – one of several held by the DOJ in Albuquerque – people are expected to tell officials about bad experiences they have had with APD officers.
