A grand jury has indicted a former Albuquerque Police sergeant.
Patrick Ficke was arrested last month on domestic violence and child abuse charges.
Police say he hit his wife in the face with a phone several times at their Rio Rancho home.
Ficke resigned from the department a day after he was arrested.
