More details emerged about a woman Albuquerque police said hid one of the suspects involved in a high speed car chase Saturday.

Police said 20-year-old Meagan Fitzgerald was driving Felix Romero around Albuquerque before dropping him off in a neighborhood.

At the time police were doing probation surveillance on Romero, and believe Fitzgerald knew she was being followed.

Fitzgerald was in court Sunday. Aside from being charged with aiding a felon, she was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

According to the criminal complaint, police said when Fitzgerald was arrested at a gas station Saturday, she refused to tell the officer anything about where Romero’s whereabouts.

They say she did know that Romero was a wanted man.

When police searched her car they found heroin and a glass pipe.

This wasn’t her first run in with the law. KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned back in January, she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and negligent use of weapons.

Fitzgerald posted $5,000 bail. KOB Eyewitness News 4 checked the county website to see when Romero will be in court but no date has been posted yet.
