Local teen helps women dress for success

We've heard over and over again, how you dress for a job interview can be as important as your skills. That's why one local teen has created a program to help women eliminate one of the pre-interview stresses.
The project is part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. She's collecting and giving away business clothes to women in need.
Sonya Swarts, 17, is on a mission. It started a year ago.
She's this week's Hometown Hero.
"I want to help as many people as I can," said Swarts.
She began collecting business clothes for women in need.
"They can have all the skill in the world, but if they walk-in in their jeans and t-shirt, people aren't really going to take them seriously," Swarts said.
Whether they're re-entering the workforce, or just need updated clothing because of weight fluctuations, she has it all.
"I have a lot of plus-size clothing, then I have a lot of really, really skinny clothing," she said.
Swarts said she has been working with local organizations to distribute the clothing, but says she's willing to give it to anyone in need.
"If someone needs it, I am not opposed to helping that individual." Swarts said. "If you don't look the part, you can't necessarily get the part."
Sonya is going away to college in the fall, but has high hopes this program will continue in New Mexico.
