Officials review policies after inmate suicide

The death of an Bernalillo County jail inmate has officials reviewing  training, policies and procedures for suicide prevention.

Bernalillo County authorities say 26-year-old Eric Martinez died Sunday at the University of New Mexico Hospital.

He had been hospitalized since Tuesday after what officials are calling a suicide attempt.

Metropolitan Detention Center officials say Martinez was found unresponsive during a routine check.
