A new lawsuit filed by three Republicans who lost in the general election takes aim at the former Sandoval County Clerk and her staff.

The lawsuit accuses County Clerk Sally Padilla of violating voters’ civil rights.  Three Republican candidates who lost their races claim Padilla suppressed voters to keep Republicans from winning.  The suit claims she that by only having five places to vote for a Rio Rancho which has a population of about 90,000 people.

On that night, voting centers had massive lines where people waited for five hours or longer or just gave up on voting all together.

Padilla claims she and her staff did everything right and those suing her are just sore losers.

"Get a life, move on.  Election Day is over.  You lost. Go forward," Padilla told KOB Eyewitness News 4.

The three losing candidates want a judge to throw out the results of the November election and create a special election.
