APS to meet with parent representatives about overcrowding at North Star Elementary

Parent representatives from North Star Elementary and Double Eagle will meet with APS district officials at 11 a.m. Tuesday to discuss proposals for halting overcrowding issues at North Star.
The school has a capacity of 633 students, but this year 745 enrolled.
Only about half of those students actually live within the initially drawn boundaries for the school.
District officials commissioned a study to explore the issue and possible solutions after initially meeting with parents back in September.
Now, they'll form proposals based on results from the study and research on policies in Baltimore, Boston and Atlanta.
They will be holding public meetings in the coming months.
