Some Albuquerque drivers are being bothered by a traffic company trying to collect unpaid red-light traffic tickets.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 spoke to some who said they either paid those tickets or never got any in the first place. Red-light cameras were taken out of the city over a year ago.
KOB FM’s Kiki Garcia has never received a traffic ticket in the mail, or a phone call, until now.
“I don’t remember ever getting flashed by the red light cam,” said Garcia.
KOB has learned Redflex, the company that used to monitor the city’s camera system, sold the accounts to Credit Watch.
“When you hear credit, you think credit score and you think somebody’s gotten your information and to think that you owe money to something you didn’t even know you did it’s a little off setting,” added Garcia.
KOB received more than dozen messages from viewers who’ve gotten calls from the company.
“Should I really be concerned? Is this hurting my driving record? My credit? There’s a lot of things to consider when you get a phone call like that,” said Garcia.
