nullProfessional baseball players reached out to the Albuquerque community to help the Boston bombing victims

The Albuquerque Isotopes held the “Batting for Boston” drive-thru fundraiser.

Anyone who donated received a voucher for a free ticket to any game in the 2013 season except for the Fourth of July.

A woman who donated to the fundraiser talked to KOB eyewitness news 4.

"Yeah, I'm a big Red Sox fan. Me and my family took a vacation out there in summer of 2011 and saw a few games. I just really like the community of people there. It was a lot of fun,” said Jenna Stanton.

The money raised will go directly to “The One Fund Boston” and will help those affected by the Marathon Bombings.

The Isotopes were hoping to raise more than $5,000 and have raised $4,000 so far.

People going to tonight’s Isotopes game can still make donations at the ticket office.
