After a week of terror for residents in Massachusetts authorities in Albuquerque said they have seized several explosive materials from a man in New Mexico.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned the man tried to sell a grenade outside a local business.

Little did he know, he was working with an undercover cop. Police haven’t released the suspects name but KOB did learn he is in his 20’s.

The bust happened Friday afternoon near Paseo del Norte.

A witness who works nearby told KOB it looked like a movie scene.

There were dozens of officers, including some from ATF and APD bomb squad, jumping over fences and out of cars, drawing their weapons.

After the suspect was taken into custody, police searched his apartment and found several explosive materials.

Police said they found improvised thermite, which was featured prominently in the popular TV show, “Breaking Bad”.

Thermite is a combination of metal powder fuel and metal oxide, which if in the wrong hands can cause some serious damage.
