More fallout at the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office.

4 On Your Side has learned Rio Arriba undersheriff Vince Crespin had his law enforcement certification suspended for a year and he is unable to carry a badge or a gun.

The suspension stemmed from a 2009 case in which Crespin was accused of embezzling money from the City of Espanola.

He was never found guilty of those charges.

For the last week, 4OYS has demanded answers from Rio Arriba Sheriff Tommy Rodella about citations being dropped against people in exchange for $500 donation to a sheriff scholarship fund.

At least three people have said this deal was offered to them by the sheriff’s office.

Rodella has avoided our calls and dodged interviews at his office.

On Friday, the FBI raided the Rio Arriba sheriff’s office in connection to the 4OYS investigation.

No word on who will actually run the sheriff’s office in light of Crespin’s suspension.
