A handful of some very special young girls are on their way to St. Louis this week.

They're competing in the First Lego League World Championships.

First Lego League is a North American robotics program for 9 to 16 year olds.

It's designed to get kids excited about science and technology. The girls from the Atomic Flying Pickles stopped by our studios.

They're from Los Alamos and they're Girl Scouts. Part of their project that helped them snag the New Mexico Championship is a cooling headband.

The headband helps combat insomnia by reducing the temperature of the over-active frontal cortex.

The girls will represent New Mexico in the first World Festival in St. Louis April 25th-27th.
