One of a pair of inmates that escaped from a MDC transport van Monday evening was found several hours later.

The other is still at large Tuesday morning.

Andreas Macias was found hiding under his house in the 2200 block of San Ygnacio by deputies.

Macias and Brandon Davis were picked up from court where they had been remanded back into custody. While en route back to MDC, the van stopped at UNMH to pick up another inmate who was being discharged at the hospital.

While the van was parked, the two inmates kicked open the back door and fled on foot heading east on Lomas.

Both inmates were wearing handcuffs but not the normal MDC orange inmate uniform.
