A Madison Middle School teacher is on paid leave, accused of misconduct with a student.

Susan Stearns is a special education teacher at the school and has been employed there since the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. Stearns has been with APS since 2000.

The district isn’t providing any specifics as to what she is accused of doing. Stearns will remain on paid leave until an internal investigation is complete.

The school sent a letter home to parents Tuesday afternoon with information about the incident.
