Fire Officials: La Luz trail fires may have been intentionally set

The U.S. Forest Service fire crews are now saying the fires that sparked in the area of the base of the La Luz trail head Thursday evening may have been intentionally set.

Crew quickly snuffed out the three fires after they broke our Thursday evening.

Aircrews were diverted from the Piedra Fire to help in the attack. Ground crews also assisted.

All of the fires burned a total area less than an acre. 

Road into area that leads to La Luz trailhead is closed to nonresidents.
