I-40 was closed westbound at mile marker 272.9 due to an accident that killed two people.

State Police say the driver of a vehicle containing three people fell asleep at the wheel, then woke up and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rollover and ejecting two of the passengers.

57-year-old Nadine Hart and 27-year-old Sharai Hart were killed in the crash. Sharai's nine-year-old boy survived and was transported to a hospital in Albuquerque with very serious injuries. All three are from Las Vegas, Nevada.
