SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) - Captain David C. Iglesias, a former New Mexico U.S. attorney and a prosecutor in the case that inspired the movie "A Few Good Men," will give the commencement address at Western New Mexico University on Friday.

Iglesias was one of eight U.S. attorneys fired by the Bush Administration in 2006 in cases the Inspector General later deemed to be politically motivated.

He is now with the Office of Military Commissions in Washington, D.C., part of a special prosecution team for Guantanamo detainees.

Born in Panama, Iglesias graduated from Santa Fe High School and graduated from the University of New Mexico Law School.

After law school he became a Navy judge advocate general who defended court-martialed sailors at the Cuban naval base, including a case that became the basis for the Tom Cruise movie, "A Few Good Men."
