If you're looking to take Mom somewhere for Mother's Day, how about a place with margaritas geared toward the ladies?
This week's Best Bites takes us to Prickly Pear Bar and Grill on San Mateo near Osuna.
They're serving up hearty New Mexican favorites.
One of their signature dishes is the puffed tacos made with deep fried corn masa tortillas.
They can be filled with carne adovada, beef or chicken and they are topped with avocado and crema fresca.
As for those drinks, co-owner Carolina Gutierrez says the signature drink, a prickly pear margarita of course, is perfect for the ladies.
"These margaritas are fun because they're freshly made and we usually have fun back here making them. We muddle everything fresh made so if you decide not to have salt or lemon we can adjust that," says Gutierrez
Some other flavors include cucumber, cucumber-watermelon, cucumber-pineapple or coconut.
What other local New Mexico food should KOB feature?
