It seems there’s always one house in the neighborhood that’s a mess. And, most of the time, neighbors don’t know what to do about it.

The downtown neighborhood has a lot of history.

“A lot of the houses are over 100 years old,” said Nick Gentry, who’s lived in the community for over 20 years. “I think generally there’s a lot of neighborhood pride,” added Gentry.

But not in front of one house. Where instead of lush, green grass, there are weeds, trash and dead grass - something Gentry has to see every day.

“Obviously, you can see with the weeds and some of the grasses that are a couple feet tall that it doesn’t get mowed,” said Gentry.

The home is one of five in the neighborhood owned by world-renowned architect Antoine Predock.

“It’s really frustrated because you would think someone of this character and his profession, you know, he would be the last person you’d think that wouldn’t take care of his properties,” added Gentry.

Last week, the neighborhood association sent off a letter to Predock asking him to work on his properties.

Predock’s property manager said they never received the letter, but they’ll look into it.

They city told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that people frustrated with messy homes can call 311. An inspector will then be send out and if they notice an issue, the owner will have two weeks to fix it.

Gentry said he'll give the city a shot at getting the properties cleaned-up.

“You want your neighborhood to look nice and be consistent,” he said.
