The Bachechi Open Space is recovering from over $10,000 of damage from vandalism.

An employee arrived Wednesday morning and noticed the northern portion of the property was completely flooded.

Irrigation valves had been opened to redirect water and flood the property.

The flooding washed out at least one trail and uprooted newly planted shrubs.

"We're passionate about our parks and open space and somebody to demonstrate this type of disrespect, well then you know there should be a consequence to pay for that," Ed Chismar, Director of Parks and Recreation said.

The county is asking the public to call deputies if you see any suspicious action.
