A pilot flying a homemade plane was forced to make an emergency landing near Double Eagle Airport Friday morning.

The pilot radioed the airport's tower shortly after takeoff to advise them that the plane's engine had stopped running. He thought he may have been out of gas. The tower then advised him as to what to do.

The type of airplane the pilot was flying is a Van's RV-6, which is a kit plane that needs to be assembled.

the pilot did not appear to be injured.
