This isn’t the first time the residents of Moore have had to pick up the pieces after a devastating tornado, so why do they continue to stay?

It’s a question many around the country ask after tragedies like this one, and it’s not a simple one to answer.

Imagine wind so fast it could keep a 2x4 lodged in the window or powerful winds whipping heavy duty construction materials and even cars through the air at dizzying speeds. These are all possibilities when living in so-called Tornado Alley. Even a thunderstorm can turn into something bigger.

Even so, the families KOB 4 spoke with said it’s part of what makes their community unique.

Moore residents said seeing how their town can bounce back after such devastation makes them proud. The community is already on the way to recovery; KOB 4 has seen crews cleaning up debris since Tuesday, and even residents of surrounding communities have even shown up to help with the effort.

Stay tuned to KOB Eyewitness News 4 for continuing coverage in Moore from Gadi Schwartz.
