Every time we saw her, she had a smile on her face - that's what many are remembering Friday night. An Albuquerque teenager, who inspired people with her courage, has lost her battle with cancer.

KOB 4 first told you about 17-year-old Karleen Zetina in March - when West Mesa High School held a special graduation ceremony for her.

After that story aired, people were so moved they reached out from everywhere to bring some happiness to Karleen and her family.

Needless to say, she was very busy in the last couple months of her life. She went to prom, she drove her first car and she even went on a hot air balloon ride.

Karleen passed away peacefully Friday.

We'll leave you with the message she consistently tried to spread: Try not to take life for granted.
