The Cibola High School teacher accused of having inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old girl at school made his first court appearance Saturday.

Antonio Ortega faces charges of criminal sexual contact of a minor.

Court documents state the girl was helping Ortega record final grades and pack up his classroom.

Police say Ortega touched the girl inappropriately and held her against her will.

Ortega was released from jail Friday on a $25,000 cash surety bond. He is on paid administrative leave with the school district.
