What’s for breakfast at your house? If the answer is Wheaties or oatmeal or Cocoa Krispies, a new restaurant in town is right up your alley. R U Cereal? Is opening on Central Avenue just west of Vassar, across the street from the University of New Mexico.

R U Cereal? is all about Snap, Crackle and Pop, the Trix Rabbit and Cap’n Crunch. It’s Albuquerque’s first all-cereal café and it’s open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. - eat all you can handle for $5.99. T

The variety of cereals and toppings and different kinds of milk and sweeteners is enough to knock the stripes off Tony the Tiger.

“We had one guy in here, he came in and he just went crazy,” said co-owner Pajeres Chavez. “He got the Reese’s Puffs, he added Reese’s Pieces candy, then he also put in some Cocoa Krispies in there to mix with it, then he filled it with chocolate milk. He had three bowls!”

The cereal cafe has plenty of healthy cereals, too, including hot cereals like quinoa, oatmeal and creamed wheat - no grits with red eye gravy though.

They also offer coffee and tea, juice and smoothies. The grand opening of R U Cereal? is Saturday at 10 a.m.
