The young girl killed by a bullet to the head in Albuquerque on Friday would’ve have been 9-years-old tomorrow.

Sunni Rae Reza, 8, was killed when a group of men shot several bullets at a car where she was a passenger near Gonzales Road and Coors Boulevard. She would’ve celebrated her 9th birthday on Sunday, Albuquerque police said.

Her father, uncle and another man were also in the car. No one else was hurt and it’s unclear the motive for the shooting.

After the shooting, the driver took Reza and her father to a nearby fire station. As the driver left, an ambulance arrived to take the girl to the hospital and the father stayed behind to be interviewed by police.

Reza died at the hospital.

Albuquerque police are searching for three to four men who were dressed in all black at the time of the attack.

Surveillance video was released that shows one possible suspect. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting or its suspects is asked to contact police.
