Forestry officials are asking the public to refrain from traveling along roads near the Thompson Ridge fire.

Commuters are being asked to limit activity and travel on Highway 4 from Jemez Springs to Los Alamos, as well as Highway 126 to Cuba. Officers from the Sandoval and New Mexico State Police will be monitoring traffic in the area.

The Thompson Ridge fire has burned over 22 square miles since beginning on May 31.
