Fire crews are battling another small blaze - the Big Jeffery Fire - in the Manzano Mountains. Approximately a quarter acre is burning there.

Tankers have been deployed to drop retardant on the fire as crews hike to the fire.

The fire is approximately 1/8 mile west of the Manzano Crest Trail and just south of the Crest Trail and Red Canyon trail junction.

Fire officials said they believe the fire started from a leftover sleeper from Sunday's lightening storm.
