New wildfire springs up

The Long Fire was reported at 12:14 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The fire is six miles east of Timberon, N.M. near the Carrisa Lookout.

Firefighters from the Lincoln National Forest immediately went to the scene.

The incident commander says the wildfire is a one-acre fire that is demonstrating low to moderate fire behavior.

Additional firefighting resources from BLM (Carlsbad) are enroute.

Firefighters are working on building a fireline around the perimeter.
