A group of Duke City citizens ran the bosque Sunday to “take back the trail.”

Residents organized a community two mile walk and run to show support for the recent victim of a bosque attack.

Last week, a woman was attacked while walking along the river looking for her husband and kids.

People who participated in the run say events like this one are important to make sure people are safe in the bosque .

“It kind of worries me because I have a wife and of course a mother and ya know sometimes I don't want them out here by themselves but stuff like this makes me feel a lot better about it,” says participant Matt Roybal.

Police say the teenager responsible for the attack is still on the loose.

The attacker is described as between 16 and 19-years old with short dark hair and a mustache.

Police say he may have tattoos on his chest and arms.

If you have any information in this case please call police at 843-STOP.
