Samantha Wheeler was a lifelong friend and was Tera Chavez's maid of honor when she married Levi Chavez.
The murder trial of former APD Officer Levi Chavez entered its third week Monday. Jurors heard from the wife of the man that Tera Chavez had an affair with.
She was a friend of Tera and says she felt so betrayed, she sent Tera a text message after she died.
Samantha Wheeler was a lifelong friend and was Tera's maid of honor when she married Levi Chavez. Wheeler took the stand for the prosecution. She says she knew Tera had been seeing someone but claims it wasn't until after Tera was found dead that she learned the affair was with her husband Nick.
Lawyer: After Tera's death you were calling multiple people trying to figure out what was going on. Why were you doing that?
Samantha: I was still trying to figure out what had happened.
Lawyer: Had you been informed that it looked like a suicide?
Lawyer: Do you believe it was suicide?
Wheeler said she texted Tera Chavez's phone twice after learning of her death. The first was to say she missed her. But the 2nd one wasn't as nice.
Samantha: I said something of- I can't believe you would do this to me. You're no better than Levi.
Lawyer: What did you mean by that?
Samantha: She did the same thing to somebody else that Levi had been doing to her.
Lawyer: She did…
Samantha: She cheated.
The trial was recessed early due to a health issue for one of the jurors. It will resume tomorrow with prosecution expert witnesses.
