A man tries to steal an ATM by ramming it with his car. He then leads police on a short chase throughout Albuquerque, and that chase ended in a woman's backyard.

It all happened around 6 a.m. Police got a call about a man trying to break into an ATM on Central Avenue. The man actually used his car to try to steal the machine, but his bumper fell off in the process.

When police finally got to the scene, the man had already left, but they ended up catching up to him.

Police tried to stop the man, but he continued driving, and that's when he crashed into a woman's backyard fence.

"He was just fleeing from the officers and obviously, he lost control of the vehicle,"  APD officer Danny Padilla said.

When the man crashed, he ran away. Police ended up catching and arresting him. His identity has not been released.
