A pair of suspects who were wanted in connection to the shooting of a 2-year-old girl on Wednesday turned themselves over to police.

Albuquerque police had arrest warrants out for Sabra Montoya and Ryan Begay. According to the criminal complaint, Begay and the uncle of the girl who was shot were arguing outside a southeast Albuquerque residence when the suspect began shooting. The child was hit in the leg and taken to UNM Hospital by a relative.

Police arrested Samantha Montoya on Wednesday in connection to the shooting.

UNMH medical staff said the child was expected to be OK and held her in the hospital overnight for observation.
