Sandia National Laboratories plans to conduct a controlled explosive test Saturday, June 29, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. in Sandia's Coyote test field on the south side of Kirtland Air Force Base.

Some Albuquerque residents could hear an explosion associated with the experiment. Some black smoke might be visible above the base for a short time following the test.
The experiment supports Sandia's national security missions.

All hazards associated with the test are controlled. The test is being conducted in accordance with permits for Sandia’s test facilities and in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

Test dates and times are subject to change based on weather conditions.
