An unruly airplane passenger diverted not one, but two flights early Tuesday.
According to Dan Juron of the Albuquerque Sunport Airport, the man got on a Newark-bound plane in Las Vegas when he became "unruly."
Witnesses said the passenger wanted to "exit for a smoke" and began shaking the seat in front of him. The man also reportedly tried to light a cigarette on the plane.
The flight was diverted to Sunport around 3:15 a.m. and the man detained. After a medical assessment determined he posed no security threat, and he was released.
The man then got on an American Airlines plane to Chicago and reportedly tried to open an emergency exit in flight. The plane landed in Kansas City and he was once again detained.
According to Kansas City NBC-affiliate KSHB, the man was not arrested, but told he'd have to find another mode of transportation.
