The North Valley Library is closed after a fire broke out in the children's book section early Wednesday.

Fire crews received word of the blaze just after 6:30 a.m. Larry Gallegos of the Bernalillo County Fire Department said the fire was quickly contained.

Library employee Diana Lorton said books from the children's section were destroyed and computers ruined. The total cost of the damages is unknown at this time.

Investigators told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that they are looking into the incident as a possible arson.

All library holds will be processed and rerouted to the Los Griegos Library as a pick-up location. For more information, contact the North Valley Library customer service line at 768-
