Santa Fe Animal Shelter volunteers spent their Fourth of July distracting dogs, cats and bunnies from the sounds of a nearby fireworks display.

The show is usually held at Santa Fe High School, but due to construction, the city moved the event to the Municipal Recreation Center—right across the street from the shelter.

But volunteers armed with Pupsicles and calming vests kept the dogs distracted during the show, as seen in a video sent to KOB Eyewitness News 4 by the shelter.

Cats and bunnies at the shelter also got some extra love during the fireworks display.
