The Casino at the Downs on Central Avenue is ready to open this week. Slot machines are being serviced. The new workforce, comprised of 450 people, is training.

The new casino will feature a high end restaurant and a 7,000 square foot bar.

But there is somewhat of a casino war brewing in Albuquerque.

Isleta is rebranding itself to move away from their old Hard Rock brand.

They reopen this week boasting of a new interior with Native American artwork and new tables and machines.

The two casinos are taking a gamble of their own, that a fresh new look will bring in new business.
