The Democratic political operative arrested for child pornography made his first court appearance on Monday.
Jason Loera, a former campaign employee of Congressman Ben Ray Lujan, faces three charges of possession of child pornography while living in Bernalillo County in 2009 and 2010.
FBI search warrants obtained by KOB Eyewitness News 4 earlier this month linked Loera to the hijacking of Gov. Susana Martinez's campaign emails. When the FBI raided his home in connection to that case, they found several CDs of child porn.
Loera remains under supervised release. He could face more than 30 years in prison if convicted of all child porn charges.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said Loera was charged with email hijacking. He has not been charged, but a federal indictment links him to the case.
