The judge in the murder trial of a former Albuquerque police officer accused of killing his wife ordered closing arguments to begin Friday.

Levi Chavez is accused of killing his wife, Tera, and then trying to make her death look like a suicide in 2007.

On Thursday, the state called Tera's father, Joseph Cordova, as a rebuttal witness to pick apart Chavez's testimony from the previous day.

"Levi Chavez never asked us if we wanted any of Tera's belongings, absolutely zero," Cordova said when asked questions about furniture in Tera's room.

On Wednesday, Chavez discussed his relationship with his wife, claiming she threatened to hurt herself "countless times" when they fought.

When asked if he killed his wife, Chavez responded: "Absolutely not."
