Tera Chavez's father Joseph Cordova took the stand again Thursday in rebuttal to former Albuquerque Police Department officer Levi Chavez's testimony.

Chavez is accused of killing his wife, Tera, in 2007.

The judge wanted to clear up differences between Cordova's first testimony weeks ago and Levi Chavez's statements in court Wednesday. Throughout the trial, both sides have depicted a history of disagreement between the men.

Wednesday, Chavez claimed Cordova tried to take away the child he and Tera Chavez had when they were minors years ago. Thursday, Cordova explained he got a court order with both parents' consent to make sure the baby was covered medically.

"This court order is for guardianship due to insurance," Cordova said. "It's for insurance; it's not to take anybody's child away."

The judge made it clear Thursday that he's ready to get the trial wrapped up. At one point, Chavez's attorney asked to bring a DNA expert back on the stand, but the judge said no.
