FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - A Shiprock man was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and other charges in a July 2010 shooting that killed one man and wounded two others.

The Farmington Daily Times reports that a federal jury in Albuquerque convicted 28-year-old Clay O'Brien Mann on Friday of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Ames Jim.

Mann also was convicted of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and discharging a firearm in furtherance of an act of violence.

Authorities say Mann was drinking alcohol and shooting fireworks at his Shiprock home when he was approached by Jim and two other people.

Mann later told investigators he first fired a warning shot at Jim.

When Jim didn't stop, Mann said he then shot Jim.

Mann also wounded the two people who were with Jim.
