A bus accident reported Tuesday morning resulted from a drunken rider falling in front of the bus, according to ABQ RIDE spokesman Rick De Reyes.

The report of the crash came in around 11 a.m. near Central Avenue and San Mateo.

De Reyes said the rider, who was allegedly drunk, took his bike off the bus bike rack and began to ride away when he fell into the street. He said the bus was able to stop before impact.

Officer Tasia Martinez of the Albuquerque Police Department said the pedestrian only suffered a minor cut on the foot.

No further details about the pedestrian have been released at this time.
