Actor Robert Redford and former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson announced Monday they're forming a foundation to protect wild horses in New Mexico.

Their group also plans to join the lawsuit to block Valley Meat Company from opening.

New Mexico Attorney General Gary King has also joined in on the lawsuit.

The slaughterhouse is scheduled to open August 5, but on August 2 there will be a hearing on an emergency injunction to stop the plant from opening.
