University of New Mexico football coach Bob Davie enters his second year as head coach of the Lobos.  UNM is coming off a 4-win season in 2012.

"There's no reason to think, on paper, that we'd be better," said Davie.  "We only have three returning players on defense that really played, 22 seniors that graduated, all new receivers, all new defensive backs.  On paper there's no reason to think we'd be better, but I'll be extremely disappointed if we're not better."

The Lobos opened practice on Thursday.  They will have 5 workouts in Albuquerque before taking training camp down to Ruidoso.  The Lobos open the season August 31 at home against Texas-San Antonio.
