Horse slaughterhouse opponents fight to halt operation in court

In a last ditch effort to stop the nation's first horse slaughterhouse from opening, animal protection groups will make their case in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque today.

The animal groups sued to keep the plant near Roswell from beginning operations on Monday.

Lawyers for Valley Meat Company will also appear to discuss the controversial plant.
