FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - San Juan County authorities say the body of a Farmington woman was recovered from the Animas River.
The San Juan County Sheriff's Office says it received reports on Friday that there was a vehicle and possibly a body in the waterway.
The body that was found was identified as that of 55-year-old Clofes Gurule.
Investigators say they have determined that Gurule backed her SUV into the river after she had an argument with her boyfriend.
The sheriff's office says alcohol was believed to have played a part in the incident and that it's awaiting an official cause of death from the county's Office of the Medical Investigator.
