Police have not yet figured out who shot and killed a man during a charity event for a sick teen on Sunday because too many people were involved in the shooting.

APD said Malachi Seaman, his brother Japheth and another man walked into Eppies Motorcycle Shop on 4th and Menaul with guns. Seaman brandished a baton and began hitting a man in the face while the other two open fired on the crowd inside.

Several people returned fire and Japheth was hit. He later died from his injuries.

A second person suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers detained approximately 30 people during the incident, some still armed with firearms. More than 70 spent bullet casings were found at the scene.

Witnesses told police the three men that started the shooting were part of an outlaw motorcycle gang, and that the incident was possibly the result of tension between rival gangs.

Seaman was arrested and booked on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He has since been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
